When I finished work on Friday I ended walking home, in the pissing rain, in flip flops. Never a good idea to get flip flops made from basket weave stuff wet, so of course one burst when I was halfway back. I had to just take it off and walk the rest of the way with one bare foot, with people giving me funny looks. Just as I got onto my road the other one burst too so I put them both in a nearby wheely bin and walked into my white carpeted house with muddy, wet feet. Effy from Skins moment.
Why do these things always happen to me? So anyway I was sat drying off when I heard a car beeping outside so I looked out and my Dad had come home with a new car for me and my Mum. It's a mini cooper sidewalk, pretty much identical to
this. Ooh it was so exciting. I took it for a drive right away but stalled like 5 times LOL! It's soo hard to drive compared to my old VW Golf. The clutch biting point is like a millimeter off the floor, while the golf was as high as it could possibly get. I'm sure I'll get used to it although not looking forward to taking it to work as the car park is on the edge of the riverbank, with no fence... eek.
Saturday me and Mike went to Leicester to one of his Uni open days for Music Technology. We were both so impressed by the course and the facilities so think thats one of his favourites at the moment. The city seemed quite nice too but we didn't stay in town for long, just had a quick glance. We decided we couldn't be bothered driving all the way back so we went to Sheffield instead, as that's sorta halfway back to Stockport. Phoned travelodge and they had a really cheap room going so we stayed there and had a bit of a late night out with just the two of us. Loved it as it's been ages since I've been out anywhere except Congleton LOL.
I like Sheffield. Went to a few nice pubs then to Corp. Do like Corp as well, but kinda got my night ruined a bit. We were in the EBM room... EBM (VNV Nation type stuff, trance/dance for goths haha) is proper Mike's kinda thing. Ever since I've known him, it's always been his favourite type of music and he knows so much about it, so naturally I like it too now. We were just enjoying the music and watching a few people dance when this group of really OTT cybergoth dressed people started turning round and pointing and laughing at us. So we were like what the hell... then they came and walked past us and shouted 'SCALLIES' at us. OMG I can't believe I'm being judged by goths!! Aren't they always complaining that people judge
them based on their appearance and clothes?
It's ridiculous. We love that type of music but we don't want to wear dread falls and head to toe Cyberdog. I don't get why people think they have to be one thing, one label like 'cybergoth'. We just wear what we want, which I suppose happens to be 'trendy' and we listen to all sorts of music. We have friends that are mixes of actual chavs, gangsta wannabes, emos, anime geeks... it doesn't make any difference. We couldn't stand to not just be ourselves and make our own decisions about everything XD I just do not understand why people can't get their close little minds around it. We are true individuals and if people don't like that they need to fuck off and get a life, not try and ruin our nights when they don't know a thing about us.
However later on in the night, and after a few drinks, we decided to just get up and dance anyway. We really got into it and I noticed the main guy that was saying stuff looked a bit intimidated and went to stand at the side. Lol @ you. So it ended up being a great night anyway. This is what we looked like btw (click for big pic) check out Mike's burberry hat and my gold hoop earrings.
